Best known for his character Johnny Rico in ‘Startship Troopers’, Casper Robert Van Dien Jr. is an American actor who was born on December 18, 1968 in Milton, Florida to Diane and Casper Robert Van Dien Sr. who were a retired nursery school teacher and a retired U.S. Navy Commander and fighter pilot respectively. The surname ‘Casper’ is their family tradition which has been following the family from past 11 generations. The family also has a long tradition of joining military. The grandfather of the actor was a Marine during World War II. Originally, the family belongs to Netherlands as their roots hail from that country, but now they have been living in New York City for past many years. He has Casper the friendly ghost inked on the inside of his left bicep and this is the only tattoo that he has.
