Lawrence Muggerud was born on January 28, 1968, in Queens, New York. He was just 14 years old when he moved to Los Angeles. He is known in the public as DJ Muggs. He is a DJ and producer. He is best known for his collaborations with music band Cypress Hill. He has produced seven albums for the band till now, and the stats show that out of these seven albums, four albums reached the status of platinum, while the rest of three reached gold. He has also produced albums for other bands also, including Funkdoobiest, Which Doobie U B? and Brothas Doobie.

He has lots of tattoos on all around his body, including on his chest, biceps, forearms and shoulders. He has made many designs, including armband, tribal design, and some letters written in English language, and many other things like that. He is planning to release his new album in 2011 as well which he would call Bass For Your Face. He says the album would include lots of guest singers.

Prior joining the band Cypress Hill, he was attached with another band called 7a3, but then he left that band after he met B-Real and Sen Dog who urged him to join them at Cypress Hill. In the year 1997, he released his own solo album under name ‘Soul Assassins’ which proved a great hit, and which earned 86th spot at Billboard’s 200 best albums. In the year 2000, he released another album under title Soul Assassins II, which though received positive reviews, yet could not do a better business.
