The American singer and songwriter, Willy DeVille, who was the lead singer of his band Mink DeVille, was born on August 25, 1950, and died on August 6, 2009. He first rose to fame for his band Mink DeVille, but then he left the band and started his own solo career. He was known as a singer who knew the original traditional American musical style. He worked with a lot of people during his entire career, including Jack Nitzsche, Dr. John, Cajun music, Eddie Bo and Allen Toussaint, and many others.
He had at least two tattoos located on his body. He had a small tattoo located on his left upper bicep, and then he had a medium-sized tattoo located on his right bicep. It is not known how these tattoos looked alike.
He was born in Stamford, Connecticut, in working class, in the home of a carpenter. He was born in an area where everyone used to work in the factories, and they had not many professions to adopt. He, however, never entered in any factory for working purposes. In his youth, he spent his time listening to the music of bands like The Drifters.
They were the ideals for him. He once said they were the band who would create a spell over him and he thought as if he were hypnotized. He died on August 6, 2009, in a hospital in New York City from pancreatic cancer. He was just seventeen years old when he married Susan Berle with whom he has a son named Sean who was born in 1970.
