Jameer Nelson is an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball at Saint Joseph's University and was drafted in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets but was traded to the Orlando Magic, where he has played for his entire professional career. He currently is the team's captain.

The smallest guy on the Orlando Magic guesses he has 14 tattoos on his body.

Nelson grinned when asked how old he was when he got his first tattoo.

"Eighteen," Nelson said. "When I was allowed to."

He got that tattoo on the inside of his right forearm. It says No Fear with a knife through it and a basketball inside the "o." The lack of fear is a theme on the tattoos that grace Nelson's arms. He has a scroll on his left arm filled with words about his own fearlessness.

"No Fear, fearless," Nelson said, gesturing to each tattoo. "Keep reminding myself."

On his ribs, Nelson has a tattoo dedicated to his father, who died in the summer of 2007.


Nelson has a lot to say about fear in his tattoos, addressing it in three different text designs as he listed in an NBA chat transcript: “I have one that says ‘King of My Kingdom’, one that says ‘Fear No Man’, I have one that says ‘Loyalty’, another that says, ‘Accomplish Everything Without Fear’, another says ‘No Fear’ and another that is in honor of my Grandmother. That’s about it.”
