Jessica Ridgeway's memory tattooed on Coloradans

Yesterday, American Furniture Warehouse in Westminster held a tattoo benefit in memory of the 10-year-old girl who was kidnapped and killed at the beginning of the month.

Jessica Ridgeway had been on her way to school October 5th, but never made it there.  Hundreds of law enforcement officers, bloodhounds and volunteers searched for her.  Her body was found several days later, just seven miles from her home.

People in the community are devastated over what has happened and are continuing their efforts to remember Jessica.

According to 9News.com, one-inch purple or green ribbons were tattooed for no set fee, but any money people were willing to donate was given to the Jessica Ridgeway Foundation and the Ridgeway family.  Purple was Jessica’s favorite color, and the green stands for missing children.

The benefit was located at the same spot where they did the balloon release for Jessica.
