Public Health Issues Tattoo-Infection Warning

If you have recently received a tattoo by an unlicensed artist in Hamilton, Ontario, the public health department recommends that you seek medical attention right away.

Hamilton’s public health department has recently discovered that a man has been tattooing without sterilizing his machine in-between clients.

The unnamed tattoo artist worked out of two private residences – 932 King St. E. and 307 Barton St. E. It is not believed the artist was reusing needles and the risk to clients is considered low,” reported TheSpec.com.

Although there has yet to be any documented infections, if you are tattooed with unsterile equipment you are putting yourself at risk for blood infections such as HIV, Hepatitis B and C.

Why would anyone, in their right mind, go to someone house to get a tattoo?! Come on, that's like going to the alley to have surgery done... Wow... and that dude is wrong for not taking precautions like sterilization! Is he going to be charged with something?! That's what Id like to know....
