Great-grandma is oldest woman in Britain to get a tattoo at the age of 92

At 92 years old, Winifred Turner is the oldest woman in Britain to get a tattoo.

One of Turner’s tattoos is a piece that is dedicated to her husband Jim who passed away three years ago.

This tattoo shows their initials inside two hearts on one arm and “Miss you, Win” and the date he died on the other.

Her other tattoo is an inked bracelet with the initials of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren spells out “Grana”.

Winifred, of West Moors, Dorset, said: “I could get carried away with it. There’s no pain.”

Her artist, Rob 'Spider' Ridland, from Urban Image Tattoo in Bournemouth, was impressed.

"She handled the pain a lot better than some of the younger people, I have seen men pass out before.

"But at the age of 92 you have been through a lot, so a scratch on the arm doesn't seem to do anything.

"It's nice to see older people coming in as some still have a bad opinion of tattoos and think they are for thugs and criminals."
