Do it right

If you are going to get a tattoo then you should know how to take care of it the right way. Some people will say 2-3 weeks but that is more like a minimum requirement. It could take up to 3 months for your tattoo to heal completely. It is very important that you avoid chemicals and bacteria from entering your skin where your tattoo has been placed. The harsh chemicals in the pool could damage the intensity of the colors and hinder you from getting optimum results.

I have seen someone that got into the pool just 4 days after they got a tattoo and it looked like someone poured peroxide over a infected wound it was nasty. I didnt know the guy so I dont know what happened to it but it looked so jacked up and im sure it got faded and burned like hell but he was a drunken idiot.

If you jump in the pool and your skin starts to burn in the same place that you have just gotten a tattoo I hope you can put 2/2 together and get your idiotic ass out of the chems destroying what you just paid for.

Can you swim where there are no chemicals like a lake or river?

You can but there still might be bacteria in lakes or rivers so you are still running the risk of infection.

Baths are not good either. Think of your tattoos as an open cut and when you get into the bath and clean yourself then you are sitting in yout own filthe as opposed to a shower where it washes down the drain. If you are sitting in your dirty bath water you risk getting an infection.
