Is it bad to keep covered?

Is it bad to keep covered?

When you leave the shop initially they wrap plastic over your tattoo and tell you not to take it off for a few hours. What if you wanted to wrap it up like that before you left your house every day? Would that be bad for it?

Yeah you need to let your skin breathe. The air will help the healing process and if you leave it covered it will take longer.

Covering it up with plastic after the first day is unnecessary because your deep layers of skin are not exposed anymore.

Yes covering it is only for when its super fresh and your skin is exposed but after that first day you are safe to take off the wrap your artist put on you.

Has there ever been a person who gets the plastic wrap stuck to their skin from keeping it on too long?

Yes and then it rips your top layer of skin off which also jacks up your tattoo

Covers should be done with plastic only. And only left on for an hour at least and at most. Anything more, your sweating which will cause an infection. Those who use per towels, I don't care for. When blood dry, your gonna have pieces of tissue stuck to your healing skin... go with plastic, no more than an hour, and no less. Locks color in, keeps skin moist. Then, use a clean paper towel, dampen and add antibacterial soap, brush off lightly, get another paper towel and wet with just water, wipe off soap, then use a dry one to pat down. Apply a&d for few days, twice a day, follow up with unscented fragrance free lotion.
