I heard that if you spray bactine while you are getting the tattoo it numbs your skin

True. Let it sit for a few minutes, like 5. In between too, so if you take a few breaks, spray it on a paper towel, or napkin, let sit on your skin for about 5 minutes and come back to work. At least once an hour is good. Also, pop a few ibuprofen. Keeps swelling down and keep s blood to minimal. Also helps with the pain.

There is a numbing cream you can get. Just apply an hour before getting inked and then you should be alright at least for a few hours. You could also try taking pain relievers a day before and keep up on the dosage even after your tattoo. i had some left over vicodins from a tooth extraction and popped one before i had my thigh done and during and again after. I felt the needle, but the stinging wasn't so bad. I drank a lot of water during the process and something every hour, like banana's, sneaker bar, and chamomile ice tea.
