Another thing with Asian symbols, is if one stroke if off slightly, the whole tattoo will be screwed up. One of the posters said go to an Asian artist, and i could not agree more.

I watched a show on the Asian school system one time and the kids have to take art classes just to learn how to write their language. Obviously the details are important.

I love Asian work, but seriously, do not ever get a tattoo of Asian symbols unless the artist is Asian himself!!! They have special strokes and a stencil can NOT portray those strokes. One little screw up and the tattoo is ruined. Cant be fixed. Just like tribal work. If the person isn't tribal, go to one!!! Find one!! That's like buying sushi from a gas station... yuck!

Very common to find out years after that your symbol means something entirely different

Man I'd hate to try and get something that had a cool meaning and it end up meaning your a d*ck or something. I'll do my research for sure.

I like Asian symbols, especially when placed on the back, or the ribs. ;)

I would confirm with a few sources before committing to anything.

I have the kanji symbol for warrior on my ankle and I know it is the right character because I did a lot of research first and I picked my own symbol.
