Do I need dark colors

Do I need dark colors

I got a really bad tattoo of some angel wings on my ankle in college and it looks so bad now and I want to cover it up with another tattoo. Can you only cover other tattoos with dark colors and black? I wanted something cute and colorful but I dont know if that is possible.

You only need dark colors to go over dark colors like black, brown, and purple. If they are light they should have no problem covering that up

Its not like paint where you can just lay down a primer coat then repaint :)

Names are a lot easier to cover up then pictures. If you have a picture then you have to figure out what can cover it and still look good as something else. If its a bunch of dark colors to cover up then I think sometimes tattoos do look like you covered it up which you want to avoid.

You can cover up old tattoo is so many different ways that you can almost not be able to tell if your artist is really good. You can turn lettering into shading and small words into basic outlines. I would never be ok with a tattoo that I am sick of so thats why I keep changing mine over the years.

I saw the other day on tv a guy who had taken black ink over all his old tattoos that he didnt like and now after it healed he is getting white ink tattoos over the black. Pretty good idea and now he can get all new work on his fresh canvas.

Anyone with a creative mind and a skilled hand can fix just about anything so dont listen to your friends that claim they know it all

Not on the entire thing, you would just make a lot going on so the places that do need dark will look like just shading and something that fits

Make the wings the leaves on a flower so you can use dark green over the wings and make the flower a very pretty color so you dont even look at the leaves and notice that its a cover up
