Mara Santangelo is a renowned former professional female tennis player of Italy. She recently said good bye to the tennis court on January 2011. Her first victory was WTA title in the year 2006 where she defeated Jelena Kostanic. In the same year, she defeated famous female tennis player Anastasia Myskina as well. In February 2006, she participated in Bangalore Open (India) and won the title. She won 2006 Fed Cup final with her Italian team mates Francesca Schiavone, Flavia Pennetta and Roberta Vinci. In the year 2007, she won 4 doubles-titles including one Grand Slam (2007 French Open). In the same year, she reached in the third round of Wimbledon Championship.

This famous Italian tennis player has shown very little interest in the tattoo art. She has only one tattoo located on the back of her neck. This tattoo is in Hindi Script that reads ‘‘jeet’’ means “Victory” in English. Most of the time, this tattoo remains out of the reach of camera due to her hairs. It becomes visible only when she ties her hairs with a ponytail during matches.
