The New Zealand ruby union player, Sonny Bill Williams, was born on August 3, 1985 in New Zealand. The 6 ft tall and 108kg athlete is also a boxing player as well besides being a rugby player. He is the only player in the history of New Zealand who plays both rugby as well as boxing on professional level. He is also said to be the only player in New Zealand rugby history who first played for New Zealand Kiwis and then rugby union. Prior joining the native rugby union, he remained playing for Australian National Rugby League where he was a member of the Canterbury Bulldogs. When he decided to leave the Bulldogs and join rugby league in 2008, the Australian media criticized him a lot. He signed a contract with the New Zealand rugby union in 2010 with promises that he would play for the All Blacks at the 2011 Rugby World Cup. He made his debut in late 2010 against England at Twickenham.

He has at least three tattoo located on his body, at first he has two Samoan designs which have covered his full right arm and right calf, then he has his name engraved on his upper back in alphabet orders. The tattoo has covered his whole back and it is written in alphabetical order.

The rugby player is famous all over the country due to his play. He was born in Auckland, New Zealand to John and Lee. As a child, he studied Mount Albert Grammar School. He says that it was his mother who encouraged him to be a rugby player.
